Fern Tor Vegan /vegetarian and vegan guest house (www.ferntor.co.uk) is set in twelve acres of grounds. There is one double room with a door opening onto the patio garden and one twin room, for £22 per person per night. There is also one double/twin with a private lounge, for £27 per person. All have ensuite bathrooms. You will be well looked after by the vegan proprietors, one of whom is Cordon Vert trained. Breakfast starts with a selection of stewed or fresh fruit with cereal, home made granola or porridge, followed by a full cooked breakfast of vegan sausages, bacon, tomatoes, mushrooms, beans, potatoes and home made bread. Eggs are from their rescued hens. Soya milk, soya yoghurt and vegan margarine are available. A two course dinner is offered for £12 and a three course dinner for £18. Bring your own wine, no corkage charge. The evening meal could be garlic mushrooms, followed by cabbage parcels on a bed of red peppers, and FernBocker Glory for dessert. Organic vegetables and their own produce is used whenever possible. Pets welcome. Special diets are catered for with advanced notice. Packed lunches available.
You could have a holiday just relaxing in their five acres of grassland along the Little Silver River which is overflowing with wild-flowers. The remaining land is used for their rescued animals and organic gardens, and tea and coffee making facilities. Explore the beaches, moors and other attractions of the North Devon Coast, Exmoor and Mid Devon. Exmoor National Park is a 20 minute drive and Dartmoor National Park is within an hour's drive.

Dart Villas B&B is a Newly refurbished Georgian house in a quiet and peaceful hillside location at the edge of Totnes in a quiet cul de sac, with lovely views overlooking the town and the Dart valley and castle, yet close to the bustling centre. 1 double, 2 doubles en suite (one with bath, one with shower), 1 twin, £24-3 per person. Single person is £27.50, £35 c £40 depending which room. A family room for 2 adults and 2 under 12's can be mad by connecting a double and twin, £100. Cooked or continental breakfast with choice of fresh fruit salad, muesli, cereal croissants, porridge, yoghurt, sausage, fried garlic tomatoes and mushroom. Organic food is used where possible.
Totnes is a lovely Elizabethan market town. Highlights include the castle ruins and the steep and characterful Fore St. There's a market on Friday and Saturday and many shops sell designer clothes, hand-made soaps and cosmetics, local arts and crafts, and ethnic gifts from around the world. Totnes lies between Dartmoor and the beautiful coast. There are many beaches and walks or cycle rides along the beautiful Dart valley towards Sharpham and beyond. You can enjoy traditional villages and old-world pubs, plus the delights of English Riviera seaside towards Torquay (good for nightclubbing), Paignton and Brixham. You can also go mount biking, kayaking, climbing and caving. Other attractions are the South Hams, National Trust and English Heritage treasures, museums and churches, steam railways, Buckfastleigh Abbey, a Butterfly Farm and Otter Sanctuary, riverboat trips to the historic naval town of Dartmouth. Plymouth and Exeter are less than an hour's drive.

Ansteys Cove Hotel is an omnivorous hotel owned by a lifetime vegetarian, set in one of the warmest climates in Britain. There are nine rooms, all with ensuite bathrooms. Single rooms £34 per night, doubles and twins £65-£70 per night, or treat yourself to the Penthouse room for £85 per night. Arrival gifts  can be added to your room to surprise your partner. At breakfast help yourself to fruit juice, cereals, fruit, toast and preserves, tea and coffee. Follow with a full cooked breakfast of veggie sausages, smoked sliced tofu, baked beans, tomatoes, mushrooms, hash browns and fried bread. Soya milk, vegan Muesli and vegan margarine are also available.
A two course meal is offered for £12 or three courses for £15. You must book in advance. Starters include soup of the day and mixed pepper pudding with a spicy tomato sauce, both served with home made bread. A sorbet is then served to cleanse your palate before the main course which could be baked aubergine, veggie mock fillet of sole stuffed with chives and celery, vegetable curry with rice and pickle, or Cornish Starry Gazy pie. Desserts include Helston Pudding and spicy apple pie served with soya cream. Proprietor/ Chef is Cordon Vert trained, so expect something delicious.
Set amidst spectacular unspoilt scenery and within walking distance of award winning beaches. Good public transport to all attractions in Torquay, as well as South Devon and Dartmoor National Park. Beautiful coastal walks in the area.
