Galleries in DevonBroomhill Sculpture Garden Set in one of Devon's glorious wooded valleys, the Broomhill Sculpture Garden provides a beautiful backdrop for over 300 sculptures and installations. Once neglected, the gardens have been developed achieving a level of national recognition. A wonderful balance can be found between art and nature here. Plymouth City Museum and Art Gallery The Plymouth City Museum & Art Gallery has a large and important fine and decorative art collection across the varying media - 750 ease] paintings, 3000 watercolours and drawings, over 5000 prints including works by Sir Joshua Reynolds and artists from the 19th century Newlyn School, 20th century St Ives group as well as other regular exhibitions. Simon Drew Gallery Simon Drew's own original drawings as well as his books, prints and cards are renowned. The gallery also houses a collection of ceramics by well established craftsmen and women including the Rudge Family, Laural Keeley and many others. Monks Withecombe Gallery Monks Withecombe Gallery shows a range of contemporary art - sculpture,
paintings and prints by both established and young artists. Based in the
Dartmoor National Park, the gallery welcomes visitors to its flower-filled
courtyards. Elmfield was the home and studio of the artist Thelma Hulbert. Before moving to Honiton, Miss Hulbert led a distinguished career as a painter and examples of her work are to be found in both public and private collections world-wide, including the Tate Gallery, London. The Gallery shows an exciting and varied programme of exhibitions from local artists and beyond. Royal Albert Memorial Museum and Art Gallery There's more in Exeter's museum than you might imagine. 16 galleries take visitors on a voyage of discovery from pre-history to the present day and from Exeter all around the world. Changing programmes mean there is likely to be something different to see every visit, from national touring shows to community displays as well as fine art from the city's collection and work by local artists and makers. Chagford Galleries Situated at the bottom of The Square,
Chagford Galleries has a wide selection of locally produced arts and
crafts. Original paintings, prints and sculpture, also ceramics and a wide
range of greeting cards are featured. Open: Monday to Saturday 10-1pm,
2-5pm. The Gallery and Museum is home to a permanent collection of paintings by renowned artists, and North Devon Slipware. Three exhibition areas host local and national touring collections; craft gallery, gift shop, cafe and workshop complement this spacious, friendly venue. Godolphin Fine Art Godolphin Fine Art exhibits a fine and varied selection of paintings and watercolours from the late 18th to mid 20th centuries. Situated in the heart of the ancient Stannary town of Chagford the gallery is open Monday to Saturday 10.15am - 5.15pm.
