Elmscott Youth Hostel is a refurbished Victorian school building, set in a beautiful coastal area with a view of Lundy island. It's a remote setting, with a feel of being really in contact with the environment, near to the magnificent rock formations on the coast and the wonderful plant and animal wildlife of the countryside. For keen walkers, the hostel is ideally placed for the long distance coastal footpath; Elmscott itself is twenty five miles from Barnstaple and fifteen miles from Bude. If you're looking to plan your journey, the nearest  youth hostels are Boscastle (twenty eight miles away)  and Tintagel (thirty two miles).
